READING THE COIN

Animal, landscape and the circular field

The fourth design becomes quieter and more heraldic. A side view gives the antlers and long-legged silhouette room to define Canada's largest deer.

The moose faces left in a broad side view. Its palmate antlers spread across the upper field and low brush anchors the long legs below; Woodruff's WW initials appear beneath the chest near the centre.
