Arches protects more than 2,000 natural stone arches in Utah. It was established as a national monument in 1929 and became a national park in 1971.
The park’s cliffs, fins and arches provide context for the named landform on the coin. The photograph shows a wider park landscape; it is not labeled as Delicate Arch or as the designer’s exact viewpoint.
