El Yunque occupies part of northeastern Puerto Rico. It is the tropical rainforest within the United States National Forest System, with mountain rivers and densely vegetated terrain.
The coin chooses a close view rather than a distant panorama. Its animal and plant forms invite attention to the habitat’s small-scale relationships.
