The 2026 Emerging Liberty dime is a one-year circulating design: a determined Liberty faces tyranny on the obverse while an eagle carrying arrows drives the reverse.
This guide covers only the 2026 Semiquincentennial dime design. Roosevelt dimes before and after 2026, and the separate Best of the Mint Mercury tribute, are outside this issue checklist.

A one-year break in the Roosevelt design
For the nation's 250th anniversary, the Mint replaced the Roosevelt theme for one year with a new circulating dime. The dual date 1776 ~ 2026 places the design explicitly within the Semiquincentennial program.
The Mint says Roosevelt returns in 2027. Emerging Liberty is therefore a separate design type, not a permanent extension of the Roosevelt portrait or a revival of the 1916 Mercury dime.
Obverse, reverse, and the details that identify the type
Confirm the major design, date, and mint mark before studying smaller die differences.
The main portrait and date
A determined Liberty faces left as wind moves through her hair. Her cap bears stars and stripes; inscriptions are LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026.
Denomination, subject, and mint mark
An eagle flies with arrows in its talons. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DIME, and LIBERTY OVER TYRANNY.
