SPECIES PORTRAIT

A quieter feline portrait relies on ear tufts, whiskers and layered winter fur.

Issue 7 begins a new reverse-artist chapter and is the last Elizabeth II obverse in the sequence.

CANADA RANGE & HABITAT

Boreal and subalpine forest with deep snow

Canada lynx specialize in boreal and subalpine forests where deep snow gives their long legs and large furry paws an advantage. Their abundance closely follows snowshoe hare populations.

REVERSE DESIGN

Reading the Lynx reverse

Leduc turns the head slightly right and uses a narrow eye line to keep the expression watchful. Upright black-tipped ears, cheek ruff and long whiskers extend beyond the compact face.
