A grizzly charging through water closes the sequence with open jaws, raised paws and concentrated mass.
THE ISSUE
The fourth release exchanges the Wolf’s narrow frontal line for a broad, weight-bearing charge. Water breaks below the animal and gives the forward body a physical surface to strike.
REVERSE DESIGN
The bear’s head sits above the centre while both forepaws rise from the lower field. Dense fur and a wide chest fill more of the circle than any earlier animal.

The Royal Canadian Mint credits Emily Damstra with the reverse and Susanna Blunt with the obverse portrait.
OBVERSE
Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II faces right. ELIZABETH II and D·G·REGINA encircle the portrait, with the five-dollar denomination and year below.
SPECIES CONTEXT
Ursus arctos includes the North American grizzly. The reverse emphasises the shoulder hump, broad muzzle and heavy forequarters associated with the animal.

RELEASE / MINTAGE
The Mint launched the Grizzly on 13 August 2019 as product 175498. Its current product page says there was no fixed mintage; secondary records report a 500,000 maximum.
